Classmates
The most important part of this effort is to reconnect with friends in the great class of 1966. As Baby Boomers, think about what we’ve experienced, from learning cursive with cartridge pens to posting Instagram images with our smart phones; from learning about JFK’s assassination during the school day to watching the Twin Towers fall on 9/11; and for many of us, going from worrying about prom dates to welcoming grandchildren into our lives. It’s an amazing time to be living! Let’s celebrate and share.

Georgia Engel

Comment:
We have learned of the passing of Georgia Engel on April 15, 2019. Please refer to the "In Memoriam" section for a link to her obituary. While Georgia did not graduate with the class of 1966, instead transferring to the Washington School of Ballet for more focused study, we always identified her as a fellow Spartan. Rest in peace. |

Comment: My family left Bethesda for Chapel Hill, NC in August after I graduated from WJ. I chose to attend Allegheny College (BS Math) where my sister Dodie went, much to Dad's dismay. (pushing for Duke!) During the summer of '69 and over Christmas break of my senior year, I was hired by IBM to learn a new programming language, and began full time at IBM as a programmer in July, 1970. After two years, and a stint in Morris Plains, NJ, I married Dave, (whom I met at Allegheny) in August,1972, moved with him to Pensacola, FL, and transferred to IBM sales. I sold everything that IBM made, managed two different sales teams, and moved with Dave several times before we made a move to Virginia Beach on 7/1/86. In 1983, I moved into the fledgling IBM Credit Corporation, and sold IBM financing until retiring on 6/30/02. Our son, David, lives in Arlington, and works for EY (Ernst Young), and is finishing his Masters. Dave retired from 7-Eleven in 7/1/13 and we are travelling and enjoying having David and his friends come to enjoy swimming and boating with us! |
