Classmates

The most important part of this effort is to reconnect with friends in the great class of 1966. As Baby Boomers, think about what we’ve experienced, from learning cursive with cartridge pens to posting Instagram images with our smart phones; from learning about JFK’s assassination during the school day to watching the Twin Towers fall on 9/11; and for many of us, going from worrying about prom dates to welcoming grandchildren into our lives. It’s an amazing time to be living! Let’s celebrate and share.

Here is a brief description of the last 50 years of my boring life. After graduating from Maryland I was commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer, and moved to San Diego. During this time I picked up a MBA from U.S C., was in the Far East and returned home in one piece. I then decided to go to dental school at Maryland, went back in the Navy on a scholarship, got out and went on to become an endodontist.  I had a practice in Towson, until 2000, when I sold it to the woman who had been working with me.  She asked me to stay on part time for a short while and I am still there. The Maryland winters got to much for me so we built a home on the water in Highland Beach, Fl. (between Boca Raton and Del ray Beach).  I started playing a lot of golf and fishing and after a couple of years became tired of the genteel life and found a young endodontist in Boca Raton who needed help a few days a month. So now, I work in Towson every Tues and Wed and in Boca Raton every other Thur and Fri.  I have been doing this for 8 years and like the pace.  I feel it keeps me young.

I just celebrated my 44th wedding anniversary with my wife Amalia. We have two sons, 4 grand kids who all live in L.A.  We have traveled the world several times and now spend about 6 weeks in LA and split the rest between Md. and Fl.

The most exciting thing that happened too me is a Star Wars metaphor.  I saw the Dark Side, but the Force was with me.  Last August I had an unwitnessed cardiac arrest at a gym in Boca.  The young man called 911 started CPR and hit me with paddles with no luck.  A police Lt. heard the call and arrived and repeated it, no luck my heart was still stopped.  Finally the EMTs arrived, shot me with epinephrine and my heart started.  I was on life support for 2 days and the prognosis was extremely poor.  After 3 days I started to respond and the rest is history.  The Force was with me.

Comment: After working in accounting for years, I decided to start my own business.  I am a registered tax preparer and getting ready for another income tax season.  Even after 'retiring' two years ago, I am still working, less than before but still keeping busy.    Since moving to Florida two years ago, I have enjoyed playing cello with The Villages Orchestra, playing with a string ensemble and a cello choir.  I finally have time to do what I love.      We love to travel and are working on our bucket list.  A few years ago, we finally took a trip to Alaska, and this year we are headed to Europe for almost a month.    Life is good!    below is a 2015 update..........    My husband Sam and I lived in Sparta, NJ on Lake Mohawk for the past 23 years. After the freaky Halloween snow storm 2 years ago and Hurricane Sandy last year, it was time for a move. We found an active retirement village in central Florida, The Villages. I am still working as a bookkeeper and income tax preparer, but I still have plenty of time to play. We love biking, ,kayaking,, and all sorts of water activities. I am still playing my cello and have joined The Villages Orchestra. We love to travel and we have visited most of the National Parks out west, Hawaii and Alaska. My daughter Kristin moved to Bethesda when she got married. The she moved to DC and now lives in Alexandria. She is doing most of her theatre work at The Kennedy Center.

Comment: Hello! I went to U of Md in engineering BSME, then went to Cornell to get my MSME. Was recruited by General Motors and went on towork for GM for 25 years. Worked on GM EV1 electric car. Quit & work another 6 years with 2, Tier 1 auto suppliers, then quit to start my own EV company. We have been developing a product, called EcoV Electric for about 12 years. We have had a very difficult time finding investors and are now working with people who understand our product in China, Korea & India. Our EcoV is designed for city and urban areas where trips are shorted and speeds are slower. We are opening a new & emerging market for city fleet operators and private users. EcoV is affordable at $11,999, safe with crash testing, versatile with 8 different multi-functional models & saves over 70% in operating cost. EcoV is a smallish car & very roadworthy, fully enclosed & bullet proof reliable. We have some great videos on our website,www.EcoVElectric.com. It is a great but limited investment opportunity.

Back to me. I have been married for 42 years to a wonderful woman. We have 3 children and soon to have our 9th grandchild. All live very close to us and we see them all the time!! We are very lucky.

I am semi-retired and have not given up on my dream to produce an EV for the masses, just like Henry Ford did over a 100 years ago.

I welcome all emails!
