Classmates
The most important part of our reunion is to reconnect with friends in the great class of 1966. As Baby Boomers, think about what we’ve experienced, from learning cursive with cartridge pens to posting Instagram images with our smart phones; from learning about JFK’s assassination during the school day to watching the Twin Towers fall on 9/11; and for many of us, going from worrying about prom dates to welcoming grandchildren into our lives. It’s an amazing time to be living! Let’s celebrate and share.

| Comment: Read my bio from 10 years ago and it was so long winded I decided it needed tremendous abbreviation. And I have added a new, crazy picture of me from a 2015 Pirate Days spoof we celebrate at Smith Mt. Lake each year here in Moneta VA. I am still in love, still married and still shepherding my unique moving company as CEO, franchising the business model which is now 20 years old. Very time consuming effort but I do take time to play on our 50 ft. houseboat. Enjoy visits with our 9 grandchildren but none are "local" so my professional pursuits still dominate. Really looking forward to the reunion and appreciating old faces in new ways. Life's transitions just amaze me. | |

| Comment: June 2015 Owns and operates a Bar in Breckenridge Colorado named Brooklyn Tavern & Billiards.....stop in for a beer anytime ALL classmate from WJ66 Hope to be able to arrange to come for 50th as my mom still lives in Gaithersburg. more later Bill .................................... (Dated 10 years ago for the 40th reunion so old info) Bio from: Bill Barr email him at bill@williambarr.com I will not be able to make the reunion but here is my story: After graduation, went on to college. BS in math from Allegheny College and MS in Computer Science from U of Illinois. While at Illinois, met my wife of 34 years, Rhoda. Worked for almost 30 years in NJ with Bell Labs and successor companies (Bellcore and Telcordia Technologies). Took early retirement in 2001 when the telecom industry collapsed. Have been working since then as an independent IT Management Consultant (work stuff is at http://www.williambarr.com). When Rhoda lost her corporate job in 2003, we realized we could live anywhere we want to - and NJ was no longer high on our list. We chose Breckenridge, CO. Our mantra: Went to NJ for the jobs, stayed for the schools. Now the jobs are gone, the kids are gone and so are we. We have two children: James (25) and Ron (21). They are both out here in Breckenridge now. James graduated from Allegheny College in 2005 and came out here for a year before graduate school. He is still here - we will see. Ron is a professional snowboard instructor so we expect him to stay in the high country for quite a while. |

Comment:
Following college (Oberlin) and law school (Stanford), I spent about five years as a junior lawyer at a large commer-cial law firm. I then spent about 10 years as the in-house general counsel of an international jet broker/dealer (much more interesting - details supplied on request). That led to a multi-year affiliation with a boutique DC firm doing aviation work. When its senior partners retired, I did aviation work on my own. An aviation client is now involved in complex litigation, requiring frequent business travel. Bottom line: if I'm in town, I'll attend. If not - unfortunately - I won't be able to. Over the years, I have communicated with Bob Kerr and Harriet Broder. Several years ago, I had an enjoyable conversation with Jane Jacobs (Luckom). I congratulate Tony on his career accomplishments, and Tom on his work to make the reunion a success. P.S. to Tony. My historic role as the "2nd Cockney" in "My Fair Lady" (2 lines) was the apogee of my performing arts experiences. |
